    Lyndsay Famariss

    Director

    Lyndsay Famariss, ECOA Administrator, began her role at the Anchors in September 2020. Lyndsay is a licensed social worker with over 25 years of experience working in social services on Martha’s Vineyard. She serves on the boards of Healthy Aging MV, MV Center for Living, Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands, and PAWS of MV. Lyndsay currently serves as chair of the Tisbury Master Steering Plan Committee. Lyndsay is a member of the Healthy Aging MV Transportation Coalition, the MV Climate Action Plan, and the MV Food Equity Network. In her free time, Lyndsay enjoys soaking up time with her two teenage children, rowing with the Sail MV Rowing Club, paddle boarding, traveling, caring for her menagerie of animals, and exploring island trails.

  • Meris Keating

    Director of Senior Services

    Meris is Edgartown's knowledgeable and enthusiastic Director of Senior Services. She develops new programs to satisfy the requests of our seniors, leads field trips to interesting places, produces our colorful monthly newsletter, manages the new ECOA website, and enjoys running craft, journaling, and painting workshops throughout the year. Meris advocates for older adults through her work with island organizations, sharing insight gleaned from her daily interactions, in the development of programs and services at the ECOA and island wide. She collaborates with organizations focused on supporting the needs of older adults, including several coalitions led by Healthy Aging MV.

    Meris holds a bachelor’s degree in art education and a master’s degree in Gerontology, as well as one year of graduate studies in art therapy, all of which lend to her passion for creating and implementing programs. She has worked in a variety of settings along the continuum of care giving her valuable knowledge and insight to support families as they navigate aging. When not at the Anchors, Meris can be found spending time with her family and pets, knitting, gardening, reading, traveling, and cooking.

  • Victoria Haeselbarth

    Outreach Worker

    Victoria helps to unite Edgartown’s older adults with services that may enable them to age more successfully. She provides advocacy and case management to those in need and enjoys helping to resolve complex problems. Victoria did her undergraduate work in psychology and nutrition at Clark University and her graduate work in clinical psychology and health care administration at Clark University and Southern New Hampshire University. She serves on the Dukes County Health Council’s Data and Information Committee, its Housing Committee and writes a monthly newspaper column featured in the Martha’s Vineyard Times, Working for Your Health. Victoria serves on Healthy Aging Martha’s Vineyard’s Falls Prevention Committee and Home Safety Modification Committee and is delighted that grab bars and handrails have been installed in the homes of 38 older adults as a result of the work of these committees. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Island Housing Trust, is Chair of their Stewardship Committee and serves on their Accessory Dwelling Unit Committee. In her spare time, Victoria enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, cultivating her garden, and all types of crafts and art projects.

  • Donna Paulson

    Receptionist

    Donna is the friendly voice that answers the phone and greets people as they arrive at the center. Besides signing you up for programs, Donna will do her best to answer your questions and concerns, or refer you to the appropriate staff or agency that will meet your need. Donna manages the food pantry at the Edgartown Counsel on Aging, which includes ordering the supplies from the Greater Boston Food Bank. Donna is also responsible for the financial records of the center, which includes depositing funds to the town and entering the bills that need to be paid. Donna can also be found joining in many of the center’s programs, attending some of the field trips.

    Donna has been employed at the Edgartown Council on Aging since 2009. She graduated from SUNY Albany with a B.A. in English. Donna enjoys writing poems, vignettes and novels in her spare time and is co-facilitating the journaling workshop at the center. When she’s not at the Anchors, Donna is very involved in a local church fellowship and various community programs.

  • Chris McMahon

    Cook

    Chris joined the Anchors team in April of 2023. His easygoing demeanor, fun sense of humor, and passion for cooking make him a great addition to the team. Chris’ affinity for the culinary world began early, having grown up in a family of chefs. His first job was cooking in his uncle’s restaurant in Nassau, NY. Upon moving to Martha’s Vineyard some 20 years ago, Chris continued to hone his craft of cooking in some of the most beloved Island restaurants including Zephrus, Park Corner, and Slice of Life. His favorite style of cooking is American comfort food. Chris lives with his wife and son in Oak Bluffs, along with their fluffy Old English Sheepdog, George. In his spare time, you can find him playing a round of disc golf with friends.

  • Bill Glazier

    Part Time Outreach Worker

    Bill Glazier has been a familiar face in the Anchors community for many years. Since 2015 he has served the ECOA community in his role as SHINE counselor, proving himself invaluable to those needing to navigate the world of Medicare. Bill also has been volunteering as a Meals on Wheels driver since 2013. He finds volunteering to be a very personally meaningful endeavor. In 2023 Bill was hired as a part-time outreach worker at the ECOA. Bill’s passion for helping others coupled with his knack for solving complex and often frustrating issues makes him an excellent addition to the team.

    Bill’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Maryland and a Master’s degree from George Washington University in Tourism Development. Bill worked in fleet operations for Northwest Orient Airlines with flights to the Far East, based in Minneapolis, Seattle, and Honolulu. He then spent 28 years with SwissAir, based in both Washington DC and NYC, promoting tourism to Europe and the Middle East. In Bill’s free time he works as a seasonal employee of ground operations for Jet Blue Airline at MVY airport. He also enjoys spending time traveling with his wife Susan and their five children and their grandchildren.

Our Board

The ECOA Board of Directors is comprised of six dedicated Edgartown residents who volunteer their services, providing valuable oversight and input in our policies and programming. We thank them deeply for their continuing interest in the health and welfare of Edgartown's senior population.

Friends of the Edgartown Council on Aging

The Friends is a non-profit volunteer organization, formed to support the Anchors through fundraising and other activities. Many programs and events offered by the Anchors are made possible by, or enhanced through, the Friends financial contributions, including ongoing subsidies to our lunch program, exercise programs, craft classes, musical performances, and trips. The Friends group is an important and valued resource for the ECOA and Edgartown seniors.
